8. Wearing the Ring

8.1 Choosing the Finger

  • For best sensor accuracy, wear the Herz P1 on your index, middle, or ring finger.
  • The ring should fit snugly but comfortably—not too tight and not loose enough to spin freely.

8.2 Positioning the Sensors

  • Ensure the sensor area on the inside of the ring faces the palm side of your finger.
  • Keep the contact area clean and dry for more reliable readings.

8.3 Daily Wear Guidelines

  • You can wear the Herz P1 all day and night.
  • Remove the ring if you experience discomfort or if your finger swells (for example, in very hot weather).
  • Avoid wearing the ring during activities that may cause strong impacts or scratches (heavy lifting, certain manual work, etc.).

9. Using the App

9.1 Home Dashboard

The main screen typically shows:

  • Current heart rate
  • Overview of steps, calories, distance
  • Recent sleep summary
  • Daily readiness or stress indicator (if supported)

9.2 Activity Tracking

  • Steps, distance, and calories are automatically tracked throughout the day.
  • You can set activity goals (steps, active minutes, calories) in the app and monitor progress.

9.3 Sleep Tracking

  • Wear the ring while you sleep; it automatically detects your sleep period.
  • In the morning, open the app to view total sleep time, estimated sleep stages, and sleep quality scores.
  • Aim to wear the ring consistently at night for better long‑term insights.

9.4 Heart Rate and SpO₂

  • The ring measures your heart rate and SpO₂ periodically and during sleep.
  • In the app you can view trends over time, including resting heart rate and average values.

10. Settings and Personalization

In the app settings, you can:

  • Edit your profile (age, weight, height, gender) to improve calorie and zone estimates.
  • Adjust goals for steps, calories, sleep, and other metrics.
  • Choose notification preferences.
  • Set do‑not‑disturb times (for example, overnight) if supported.
  • Check firmware version and update the ring when new software is available.

11. Care and Maintenance

  • Clean the ring regularly with a soft, slightly damp cloth; dry it thoroughly.
  • Do not use harsh chemicals, solvents, or abrasive cleaners.
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to soaps, shampoos, perfumes, or lotions that may leave residue on the sensors.
  • If the ring becomes wet (washing hands, rain, sweat), dry it with a soft cloth afterwards.
  • Store the ring and charger in a cool, dry place when not in use.

12. Waterproof and Usage Notes

  • Herz P1 is designed to be splash‑ and sweat‑resistant for everyday use.
  • You can typically wear it while washing hands and during workouts.
  • Avoid high‑pressure water, saunas, and hot tubs, and do not wear it while diving or in very deep water.
  • Do not charge the ring while it is wet.

13. Battery and Power Management

  • Typical battery life is several days per charge, depending on usage and features enabled.
  • To extend battery life:
    • Reduce continuous monitoring settings if available.
    • Turn off unused notifications.
    • Keep firmware and app updated for performance optimizations.

When the battery is low, the app will display a low‑battery message. Charge the ring as soon as convenient.

14. Troubleshooting

14.1 Ring Not Powering On

  • Make sure you have charged the ring for at least 1–2 hours.
  • Check that the charging contacts are properly aligned and clean.
  • Try another USB power source or cable if available.

14.2 Cannot Pair with Phone

  • Ensure Bluetooth is turned on and your phone is close to the ring.
  • Confirm the ring is sufficiently charged.
  • Close and reopen the app, then try pairing again.
  • Restart your phone and retry.
  • If it was previously paired, remove or “forget” the device in Bluetooth settings and pair again through the app.

14.3 Data Not Updating

  • Open the app and make sure it is connected to the ring (check connection status).
  • Keep the app running in the background and grant it required permissions.
  • Check for app or firmware updates.
  • Try toggling Bluetooth off and on, then reopen the app.

14.4 Inaccurate or Inconsistent Readings

  • Ensure the ring fits snugly and the sensor side faces your palm.
  • Clean the underside of the ring and your finger.
  • Wear the ring consistently for better trend data.
  • Remember that single measurements can vary; focus on trends over days and weeks.
